Thursday: Finish presenting Unit 1 Post-Test; Bonus assignment All Hallows Eve Trivia and Missing Vowels Word Seek. This was not extra credit!! However, it is intended to assist in boosting grades.
Friday: Sustained silent reading. Everyone needs to have a book of their choice.

Tuesday: Introduction to Unit 2-Anne Frank and Holocaust. Homework: Students need to type an outline answering the following prompt "What would you do with a million dollars?". They need to submit this type response to me electronically through google. We need work on our typing skills because it is hindering our essay writing. Due Monday. We needed a second day to finish the pre-test. Once students finished the pre-test, they were given the opportunity to look on FOCUS and fix any problems they may have in the gradebook. Progress reports are published today.
Wednesday: Introduction to the Holocaust. Watched the documentary One Survivor Remembers and answered comprehension questions.
Thursday: Classroom spelling bee to determine school wide spelling bee participants. I gave students a parts of speech review. See attached below.
Friday: No School. Veteran's Day. Typed outline due Monday.

Wednesday: *Honor students-Read the timeline of events in Germany from 1933-1945. Complete the Chain of Events graphic organizer identifying the events that led to the Holocaust. Read from collection 5 of the textbook Anne Frank diary excerpts page 355-365. While reading, fill in the chart to make an inference about who Anne Frank is; how was she like you? There should be 1 entry for each diary entry (8).
Thursday: *Honor students read the excerpt and fill in the chart. All inferencing charts are due today.
