This week's homework: One of our essential questions is: How do personal trials test the depth of our resilience?
Write an essay that tells about a personal trial that you have overcame. How did you overcome the trial? Who did you reach out to for help? What advice do you have for someone else in that situation?

Monday: Students will explore elements of the Long Walk, comparing and contrasting the distance to a place in Florida. Homework for ch. 12-15 were given out Friday.
Tuesday: Students read "The Powwow at the End of the World" by Sherman Alexie. I modeled how to make inferences. Students then completed an inference graphic organizer to make their own inferences.
Wednesday: Students used the ACE strategy to answer questions 1-6 of the text pg. 78 of the Collections text.
Thursday: RETEACH students the ACE strategy. Students were given the opportunity to rewrite their answers to questions 1-6 using the proper ACE technique.
ACE strategy asks students to do three simple things in writing:

b) Use key words from the question in your responses.
